EASY NOUGAT CHOCOLATES FOR CHRISTMAS

I was out shopping a couple of days ago when I found a small Christmas mold for preparing homemade chocolates. They seemed to me so cute that I didn’t hesitate to pick it up.

I didn’t have any recipe in mind but then on my way back home I suddenly remembered one I read for Halloween. I hadn’t all the ingredients so I decided to start by melting some good quality chocolate I had and mixed it with some nougat I bought because Christmas is almost here.

During this period we eat lots of nougat in Spain since it’s super traditional, so, for this reason, it’s not strange at all I already had some in my cupboard.

In case you’re not a fan of nougat, you can simply leave it out of this recipe.

And if you think these chocolates are difficult to make, I can assure you they are not. You only need to melt all the ingredients in a heatproof bowl set over a pan of simmering water.

INGREDIENTS for 30 chocolates

1 cup chocolate chips

¼ cup soft almond nougat

2 tbsp extra virgin coconut oil

1 tbsp cocoa powder

1 tbsp agave syrup

METHOD

Add all the ingredients to a bowl over a bain-marie. Stir well until they have melted completely. Now pour the mix into the mould and fill each of the spaces to the top. Then put the mould into the freezer for at least one hour.

Once the chocolates are cold enough, remove them carefully and put them into the fridge. These chocolates are to be eaten a little bit cold!

Buon appetito and Happy Christmas!
